"So-so there are better Earlwood streets than this one"
We've had plants and shoes stolen from our front porch 3 times. It's a busy street with traffic including buses, trucks and rev-heads using it shortcut to Earlwood and to by-pass Canterbury and Bexley Rd. There is some aircraft noise that starts about 6am. I've lived here for 2 years and have a young family and found that Earlwood isn't very neighbourly unless you buy something in a shop or you speak Greek, people will say hello sometimes, it might be language barrier. The people are quite cliquey generally. The local Coles is ok but customer service and hygiene are hit and miss. Still it's in a good location to the city and inner west areas. I wouldn't rush out and move here, there's better suburbs nearby like Ashbury, Hurlstone Park and even Kingsgrove. Last year there was a sexual assault in a park nearby.
Great for
- Location to city
- Easy to get around
Not great for
- Noisy
"Well kept and close to everything"
This street is excellently located! It provides convenient access to the best of Inner west living, being only 15 minutes to Newtown and Leichhardt. It's also approximately 20 minutes from popular beach suburbs and is 5 minutes from the Bexley F3 motorway link. Access to the Cooks River and its walks is found at the end of the street. The houses on the street are well looked after and the neighbours are friendly and family oriented. Another bonus is that Earlwood seems to miss flight paths, with any air traffic overhead being distant. We moved to this street mid way through last year and it's the best move we ever made - don't regret it for a second. Lovely views too. I would love to see more restaurants, cafes and funky shops in the area.
