Which is better - Ashgrove or Carina Heights?

Hi, I'm relocating to Brisbane ASAP with my young teenager and need some local advice .

I have a choice of relocating my job to a store in Ashgrove or Carina Heights. Out of the two areas which is the friendlier, nicer, greener, less crime, more for teens and families to do, more public transport area? Or does anyone know of some other suburbs close to either of the two that fits my description?

I can only comment on Ashgrove and say it has been a good leafy family suburb close to town. Although not particularly cheap to rent of buy in. Might be better value in that regard in Carina Heights, worth checking on real estate.com.au.

I would prefer Ashgrove.

Ashgrove by a country mile mate. I do not live there but plenty of family & friends have lived in both suburbs during my 40 plus years in Brisbane & it is far better than Carina Heights. Closer to the CBD as well. It would be more expensive to purchase or rent a home in Ashgrove as per pevious comment. You will also have the new Premier of QLD as your state member of parliament from March 25th!!!

Ashgrove is a lot more expensive than carina in saying that it is a richer suburb. Public transport to both areas is pretty average however there's is a bus depot in carina heights so it can't be too bad. An option might be cannon hill...a good school nearby, easy access to the city, cheaper rent and reasonable public transport.
