"Where Convenience, Community, and Family Flourish"

If you're considering making Belmont your home, you're in for a treat. Nestled in the heart of Geelong, Belmont is a suburb that effortlessly blends convenience, community, and charm.

One of Belmont's standout features is its unbeatable location for families. With top-rated schools like Belmont High School nearby, parents can rest assured that their children are receiving an excellent education. As someone who works in and around Belmont and whose children attend Belmont High, I can personally attest to the convenience and quality of education available here.

Belmont also offers easy access to a wealth of amenities, thanks to its proximity to Geelong's CBD. Whether you're looking to grab a bite to eat at one of the trendy cafes, shop for groceries at the local markets, or catch a movie at the nearby cinema after a day of work, everything you need is right at your fingertips. Plus, with excellent public transport links and major roadways nearby, getting around town is a breeze, making it convenient for both work and leisure.

Belmont feels like a place where families can put down roots and thrive, with plenty of opportunities for parents and children to get involved in community activities.

For tennis enthusiasts, Geelong Lawn Tennis Club is a paradise. The club is home to well-maintained tennis courts of three different types of surfaces that cater to players of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're a seasoned pro looking for a competitive match or a beginner eager to learn the ropes, there's a court waiting for you. The local tennis clubs also offer coaching programs and social events, making it easy to connect with fellow players and foster a sense of camaraderie within the community.

Belmont is more than just a place to live – it's a community where families can flourish. With its unbeatable location, strong sense of community, and natural beauty, Belmont offers the perfect blend of convenience and charm for those looking to make Geelong their home.

"A Brilliant, Family Friendly Suburb"

Belmont is the perfect balance between Highton and Newtown, with a more affordable price. There is easy access to the Barwon River, Highton Village and the shopping strip on Highton Street. It’s an easy little commute into central Geelong or down along the Surf Coast.

Lots of properties have been updated and it’s a good balance between owner occupy and rental properties. There’s still an abundance of development going on on bigger blocks offering a selection of brand new properties to buy or rent.

Prices steadily increase year in, year out and the demand for the great schooling is still as prominent as ever.

Not only is it a safe place to raise a family but there is heaps to do with parks, playgrounds and walks. Buckley Falls is a must see – especially after a good rainfall.

"An established suburb that is everchanging with improved infrastructure."

I have moved from one part of Belmont to another. I believe it is the best area of Geelong to live in for access to public transport, medical centres, choices of shopping areas and access to bicycle tracks. In Belmont I do not feel claustrophobic as in some of the older popular suburbs of Geelong where properties are small and roads are narrow. The part of Belmont I live is also very close to Marshall rail station. The new swimming and gym facilities are A grade - although in Waurn Ponds, very close to Belmont. Also, Cobbin Farm which is the centre for the university of the 3rd age is close by which is a great facilities for the older community. Cheers to Belmont. I have lived in other states and countries but I always come back here.

Great for

  • Public transport - including rail station nearby in Marshall
  • Lots of green belts for bicycles, walkers and joggers.
  • Medical services, shops, and larger blocks of land.

Rentals in Belmont

"A great, friendly, safe suburb for all ages."

We have raised a large family here and have never had any problems. It is so central to everything.
On hand we have sporting clubs, a new swimming centre, great medical & dental facilities. There are also good active churches. You can walk down the main street and often get a smile from people. There is a very good library and the neighborhood is very friendly. They don't live on your doorstep but would be there to assist if needed. Shopping is already excellent and the Waurn POnds shoppping centre is supposed to be doubling in size next year. Deakin University, Marcus Oldham Agricultural College, Reformed Theological College, Christian College, Clairvaux Catholic School and a number of excellent state primary schools are all in walking distance. There is also a U3A program and good senior citizen facilities. Fortunately, there are few opportunities here for gambling and no sleazy night clubs.

Hi Mintu. Are there many Asian people living in Belmont? Currently I live in Melbourne which is very multicultural, especially with all the universities. I would like to move to Belmont ( I lived there about 20 years ago when I went to Deakin), and it was very white Anglo Saxon at that time. I wouldn't like my wife to be stared at or made to feel unwelcome because she is Asian. Thanks for your advice, Best wishes, Ben.

"Great lifestyle choice"

Close to city, shopping, parks (walking distance to all). Have lived here for 17 years and the ease of access to everything makes it a great place for all ages and stages of family living.

Moved in as a couple, renovated...and had kids at the same time.
Kinder close by, good quality schools, now kids have moved on to the local high school.

With Deakin Uni on the bus route (which is around the corner) it looks like we'll be here for years to come.

@Ben2211 I find everyone in geelong is very welcoming. Belmont is a very friendly suburb and with that comes inclusion and respect. There are enough asian people living around geelong that it is common. Definitely not as common as melbourne but you would. find belmont very. comfortable.
