Breed Street, Traralgon, VIC 3844

Close in to the central shopping centre of Traralgon. Slowly but steadilly reinventing itself as upmarket inner suburbia. Close to everything (walking distance in 5 mins) - station, police, supermarkets, shopping center, rivers, racv, macdonalds, subway, restuarants, doctors, optometrists, churches, nightclubs. Compared to overpriced Melbourne the prices are still reasonable. I love that I can get to work in 5 minutes not an hour of hell like my friend in Melbourne puts up with. Also the rural countryside is accessible in 5 minutes.
On the negative side the nightclubs in the middle of Traralgon attract a late night crowd that can be rowdy on the way home. Also beware the council setup wich has combined Morwell, Moe, and Traralgon under the same council with each town having one vote each - yes the other two seem to gang up on Traralgon to its detriment sometimes - for example Traralgon is the logical place for a performing arts complex but missed out. Also small town parochialism has led to a long line of expensively built (and then abandoned) council offices - and guess who pays for them..
Dont get me started on the Gippsland Water Factory - a world first (read out of control) money pit that has turned the areas water rates into the states highest.
Still - when the bubble bursts in Melbourne I will be glad to be the proud possessor of a mortgage that is actually small enough to be paid back without resorting to the ponzi scheme going on in the big smoke - and no access to tall buildings to jump off will be a big plus come the crunch..
