"Big homes, beautiful beaches but with a hefty pricetag"

One of the most desirable suburbs to live in Victoria, Brighton has long been a family orientated area, but mostly for the wealthy. Proximity to great schools, CBD, public transport and most of all the beach make this suburb one of the very best!
Pros
  • Secluded luxury living
  • Family friendly suburb by the water
  • Cozy cafe style strips

"Wealthy beachside suburb; home to various celebrities"

Home to some of the wealthiest people in Melbourne including Eddie McGuire, Shane Warne, Matthew Lloyd and Chris Judd, Brighton is a beachside suburb based just 12km from Melbourne’s CBD. Homes in the area are predominantly grand properties and large residential blocks of land which make the suburb visually stunning and fetch an average of $1.4 million. Nestled between Elwood, Port Phillip, Elsternwick and Hampton, Brighton plays host to a yacht club, gold course, two cinemas, many old churches and a number of secondary schools. Buses, trains and trams also service the area, which is home to over 20,000 people.

MelbGal Lovely area, have considered living here when I get older.
It's not a "happening place" for singles or younger people (under 35). Displays a more quiet vibe and comprises of older people and families. It can be quite insulated - it's only little community. A little pretentious too.
