Love living here. Low density, full of interesting plants and native animals, very quiet and low-key neighborhood, people are friendly in general. Not sure if it is really a "family oriented" suburb though, there is nothing much around for young kids to entertain themselves with. It's more suitable for retirees who enjoy the tranquility and professionals with mature young adults who can drive themselves to places. Yes a lot of dog owners, I do wish some can pick up after their dogs more often.

Moved here several years ago......safe and green area. I feel that people here are a lot nicer and friendlier comparing to those high density areas I've lived in. Many dog owners and happy to stop and chat to their neighbours.

Fantastic family orientated suburb thats close enough to amenities and services and yet far away from the hustle and bustle. Plenty of open space, nice streets, some spectacular residences can also be found in the highly sought after Carrington Estate. If you are looking for a rural lifestyle but still be in the suburbs, Lysterfield is your place to call home.

Having lived here for 3 years now, I would not live anywhere else to be honest! It feels safe walking around even at night and so many native animals like birds/ wallabies to watch and enjoy.
Not many choices in terms of public transport but that's probably a good thing...... public transport brings crimes and unwanted congregations anyways.

Beautiful leafy streets, little to no flow through traffic and the feeling of safety walking at the estates even at night time.
The only down side is probably the lack of public transport...but then again people just drive to places and don't seem to be bothered by it.

Tranquil, peaceful and safe, this is an ideal suburb for families. Two large shopping centres are a few minutes of drive away and the primary schools are excellent. Some people did not care for the fact that there are no train lines....personally I feel it is better this way, so that our community remains relatively safe and quiet.

Great place to live, one road in, one road out, walk through back gates to get to Lysterfield Primary; excellent school.

Many school buses, including private schools, come into estate.

Very safe, kids ride and walk around streets, all neighbours are friendly and courteous, for example, letter-box drops when having parties to apologise for the noise.

Large blocks, the smallest being 1/3 acre, 1300 sqm.

People who live in Carrington are very protective of property and estate.
