Reviews of Macgregor, QLD
"Awesome Suburb, Amazing location"
Best location but still very quiet - 20mins to airport, 8mins to CBD with good traffic etc. Much nicer and cleaner than Sunnybank. Macgregor features houses more for families, Sunnybank is more for housesharing and renters of single rooms.
Excellent food options (not just asian food!) and amazing public transport and unbeatable location. 15mins to UQ, walk to Griffith. With the Netball Centre, very high end Physio services available & loads of GPs close by, too. Robertson State School is an excellent school with lovely students. Macgregor State School is not as good, as it is extremely large and has lost the personal touch and the students are sometimes quite disrespectful on their way home from school. Other choices in private schools nearby.
MacGregor is very highly recommended

"Same as Sunnybank"
Macgregor is the extension of Sunnybank .Look up the review of Sunnybank .Once it was an upmarket suburb on the south side.Housings have been converted into unapproved and unregulated rooms for overseas students .The houses look run down and unkept. These houses have no garages because of it being converted into rooms that cars are parked in the front lawn and take up all the street space.I contacted the member of parliment about Macgregor ,Sunnybank ,Sunnybank hills and Robertson .Had no reply. Living in St Lucia is a different story .Anything that makes this Suburb degrading the member of parlement attends to it immediately. We need to look after all suburbs in Brisbane. Qld is known as a bogan state.Suburbs like these don't help. These suburbs mentioned appear to look like some of the run down suburbs of Logan. The crime in these suburbs are known to be the worst in all south east qld.

"A wonderful little gem...lovely."
Having lived and rented around Brisbane for several years, Macgregor finally felt like home. Tucked away just 11 klms from the CBD, and with the recently renovated, massive, and now world class Garden City shopping center on your doorstep, (though you wouldn't know it) You have everything you could ever need. There are lovely parks, friendly people, and it is very safe, with super low crime. Neighboring suburbs are Mount Gravatt East, Sunnybank, and Holland Park. All lovely places. Like most suburbs it has some main roads close by, and Kessels and Mains road certainly do get busy, but its a small price to pay for living in these leafy quiet streets. great bus service to the city gets you there in ten minutes, and I can leave our driveway and be in the CBD with good traffic in 8 minutes. Nice spacious houses, big yards, and loads of nearby cafes and restaurants keep us very happy here. We simply do not plan on moving.

"Very convenient place"
Macgregor- A place which gives you easy access to freeway (brisbane city or gold coast), local schools, university, shopping areas, all kind of foods and heaps of entertainment.
Investment- Not a lot of houses for sale, however the house value is growing fast. If you would like to know more, you can contact me.

"A little too industrial for me"
This is a nice place, but there is a little too much heavy traffic moving through the area for my liking.

The houses are not well maintained (been looking through rentals) but they all want top dollar because of the location, even tho' COVID means the uni isn't even a drawcard!
