Can't think of a great restaurant, but would like to know where I can get a great risotto
Watergrill in Toorak. Great Seafood.
yeah but do they have risotto
Easily Vue de Monde in Little Collins Street Melbourne but also one of the most expensive. Must try the Boullabaise!
Don't really have a favourite (it used to be The Hofbrauhaus until they were not kid-friendly one time)... it's a pain to get into the city anyway, I prefer to eat somewhere I can find parking for free.
Medici on Newquay Promenade at Docklands has good food. A walk along the promenade afterwards makes a great evening out.
Arintji in Federation Square is good!
Just dined at Taxi at Federation Square, the food was incredible as was the service. Not inexpensive but the meals are very innovative. View over the Yarra is not bad either!
Tried North East China Family on FLinders Lane recently - great dumplings!
Impossible to choose just one, but would have to say either Il Solito Posto or Comme Kitchen
@JVS disagree completely on TAXI. Great wine, but the food just wasn't that great. Small portions as well don't help at those prices. Good deserts though :)

Hi guys,
I went to Coda on Saturday night and it was fantastic. It's a cosy little restaurant on Flinders Lane. You get to choose all sorts of 'little' things, almost like tapas, but a step up in terms of servings. We chose about 6 dishes, the best being lamb chops and salted cuttlefish. Very nice and I highly recommend it.
Here's their site

If you are in the mood for Greek cuisine, then we found an excellent Greek restaurant in Melbourne's CBD at the top of China town (39-41 Little Bourke Street) named Kri Kri.
Excellent food, service and ambience. The only anomoly, three of us had the banquet and they forgot the most important dish... lamb!
