Doyle calls for ban on hailing taxis

what a joke ! I can't believe he is serious ! I vaguely heard something about this on the ABC but didn't hear the details.
Can't we have a Mayor with a brain ? Or do we really need one at all .........

It's a dumb idea and it will never work. Yes the city is chaotic but I don't think that can ever be fixed. That's the way it is. Never mind about elderly people or disabled people or anyone else who can't walk to those proposed big ranks.

Or if it's raining, or you've had a little too much to drink, or if you're not feeling well, or if you're out alone, etc, etc...............

I think Doyle just wants some attention, so we can think he's active in his new role as Mayor. I think even he believes they are all ridiculous ideas that will never happen.

Even the people who voted for him will be getting annoyed at him soon, unless he starts doing some good things for the city.

It's a ridiculous concept that Doyle seems to excel in proposing. I'm often out in the city, and cabs are hard enough to get! I don't think banning the hailing of cabs will make it any easier.

I wonder what he will think of next? I feel like because he is new, he is taking every opportunity to 'rock the boat' just for the sake of it as if to say "Hello Melbourne, I'm here!! Look at me!!!"
