Best areas for a rural-ish feel, with wilderness, but not too far from the city via train?

Melbourne (Greater) Region is located in the state of Victoria.

I need a bit of peace and wilderness around me, can't stand the city hustle and bustle. However I can't be too far from the city with my arts practice. Also needs to be along a train line, I'm hoping for about 45-60mins out. What are my options?
