Head down to Melbourne Zoo and have a meet and greet with Squirrel Monkeys throughout the month of Feb.
Dragon’s Awakening Ceremony
Parading the Dragon through the streets of Chinatown, starting off on Little Bourke Street. The parade and festival starts at 10am till 10pm on Sunday the 14th of feb.

There are a number of events on at Crown celebrating Chinese New Year 2016. Including fireworks on the riverwalk at 9:45 on Feb 6 and The Hawkers' Bazaar with food stalls, music and art running 5-7 Feb https://www.crownmelbourne.com.au/entertainment/lunar-new-year/lunar-new-year-at-crown.
The Lunar Markets will be on at Harbour Esplanade Docklands 4-14 Feb to celebrate Chinese New Year, with pop up food stalls and music.
The Hotel Windsor does a Chinese New Year Eve Banquet (Feb 7) and Oriental influenced Afternoon Tea runs 8-22 Feb.
There's always a lot happening in Chinatown too during Chinese NY. Like traditional lion dance blessings, roaming street performers etc.
