We are moving from USA to Melbourne for 3 years..best family area to live?
Melbourne (Greater) Region is located in the state of Victoria.
My Husband will be working in Port Melbourne. Where would be the best family area to live. I was interested in experiencing the city life of Melbourne. but i also would LOVE to be by the beach.. Not a long commute for DH. THanks for any help.

The best place to live IMHO would be Williamstown. Willy is a beach side suburb with a strong sense of community. Stunning period homes, tree line streets, restaurants galore and a great shopping strip, very much like a village center. Also, it is very close to Port Melbourne accessed by the West Gate bridge.
