Reviews of Mile End, SA

"So much potential and growing in popularity over time!"

Great suburbs for first home owners and those wanting to live close to the city, minus the price of the eastern suburbs. Lots of good cafes and major stores! Lots of young health professionals working at the new Royal Adelaide Hospital have been buying houses here more recently.

"One of the best suburbs in SA"

By far one of the best suburbs in the state. Only "1 mile" to the cbd, 10 minutes to some of adelaides great beaches, not to mention some great pubs, cafe's, restaurants. Undervalued compared to North/South/East equivalents - an area ready to boom

"Mile End - One Mile From The CBD!"

A suburb that hits the spot for a vast range of buyers
- Located one mile from Adelaide’s CBD
- Consists mainly of character homes circa 1880-1920
- Traditionally an older ethnic generation – now a mix of younger families and professionals
- Area has undergone some huge transformations whereby old rail yards have made way for trendy courtyard living and recreational parks
- High density development has just been approved along major roads so further transformations will take place over the next 3-7 years
- Walking distance to the city

Great for

  • City fringe location
  • Easy access to Henley Beach Roads public transport, shops, cafes & restaurants
  • Surrounded by quality character homes

Not great for

  • Some streets are under the flight path

"A great spot for first home owners or renters"

Busy Mile End! It is one of the fastest-growing residential areas in South Australia, just to the west of Adelaide. Old houses are rapidly being demolished, and replaced with modern townhouses with all the mod-cons.

A homemaker’s delight, Mile End is home to the huge shopping complex with a massive Bunnings and a large collection of furniture and homewares stores.

It is only a 5 minute drive to the city, and well-connected with public transport. It is also an easy walk, but avoid walking through the west parklands at night time as it can be quite dangerous.
Firmly planted under the flight path, it can be quite noisy. However the Adelaide Airport traffic is managed with strict curfews on flight times so you will be able to sleep well at night.

Cafes and restaurants are being built very quickly in the area, and there are all the facilities you need within easy walking distance.

Overall, Mile End is a great spot for renters or first home buyers due to the ever growing supply of housing in the suburb.
