Thinking of moving to Sanctuary lakes

My family and I are thinking of moving to sanctuary lakes and would be interested in others views on the area. It looks like a nice area but I am wondering what the lake looked like when the drought was at it's worst. Was the water level low? Do the lake and the nearby wet lands attract more than the usual amount of mosquitos during the summer? Does anyone know why blocks in the last stage have taken so long to come on the market? The estate started 14 years ago but new blocks have only recently have come up for sale.
If anyone has an opinion on surrounding areas I would be happy to hear them.

Hi lakechange,

I don't know the area that well, but I've played golf there many times. It does get a bit dry and windy. The area is a little on the flat side as well. Pretty close to the city, although in peak hours you will get freeway traffic. Are you looking at any other options?

The lake is kept full of salt water that is pumped in from the bay and the water level is kept constant by a weir at one end of the lake. Because of these features the water level doesn't get significantly lower or higher in drought or after rain.

Because it is salt water there are no mozzies that I have ever felt.

The blocks have taken a while to develop in the last stages because of the significant amount of earth moving, island formation, etc that has occurred. Unlike many other new estates, Sanctuary Lakes wasn't just plonked on top of existing flat farmland.

Also, by staggering development the developer has been able to control the amount of land released on to the market at any one time and thereby obtain the maximum profit for each block. Supply and demand!
