Reviews of Selwyn Avenue, Elwood
"Good for families...but maybe not the young and hip"
An nice area with great proximity to the beach and walking distance (20mins) into St Kilda. Not so great for public transport as you need to take an infrequent local bus to connect to trams or trains or a take a 20 minute walk. Local Ormond Road shopping centre is okay, but dining options are all pretty average. For some reason (and I've yet to figure out why because I would have thought the disposable income was there) there are no truly great restaurants in the Elwood/Brighton area. A nice area for families. Not really a place for the young and hip.

"A little slice of paradise"
Selwyn Avenue has it all. A stone's throw from the beach. A hop, skip and a jump to cafe living and a village atmosphere. The street itself is quiet, with a mix of families, couples and singles. Very rarely do you hear a decibal out of any of the properties. If you get the chance to live here, embrace it and enjoy.

"Great place to live"
Lots of food choices on Ormond Rd, a few shops, and the bay within a few hundred meters, what more could you want!

Elwood is a great place to live. Do u get problems with bums or low life scrum from neighbouring suburbs?
Also, how close by is the public transport?
That's actually a good point RBH about the up market restaurants. Maybe being so close to Brighton, they are all there? Actually are there any up market restaurants in Brighton? Good opportunity thought in Elwood you have spotted for those restaurant entrepreneurs out there,
