"The Main Drag"
Smith Street is the local name for that section of the Pacific Highway that passes through Kempsey. It is quite a bottleneck in holiday times as traffic heading to points further north need to travel this route, competing with local business traffic. Banks, cafes, specialty stores, furniture and carpet retailers jostle for position.
