yes it does green up in the spring. We lived off Folkstone road on Thorpe St and I am telling you avoid that whole area of town at all expenses ESPECIALLY if you have kids.. that is where the trouble breeds. We disnt know when we moved and asked the realestate for a nice part of town and we trusted them. So they stuck us in the most run down house on the worst street in the worst part of town. Do not trust Stanthorpe Real Estate and do not trust Logan Steele!
As for soil.. where we were was hard as a rock.. full of granite. Trying to get a star picket in the dirt was a huge effort so I personally would never have tried growing veg in the soil.. However our neighbour got around it by making a garden bed and buying soil as to avoid the digging and horrible soil.
oh and also.. LOTS of ants.. HUGE ant nests that were past my knees and the little buggers know how to bite.. we had to keep our animals inside and spray for ants every 3 weeks year round. Also very bad for ground fleas.
Stanthorpe Real Estate seem to have a bad reputation all round. Good tip on where not to live.
