Reviews of Cowes, VIC
"Affordable Coastal Living"
Cowes gives you everything you need to enjoy quiet beachside lifestyle while still having easy access to great food, shops and coffee. With easy access to all the attractions Phillip Island has to offer it is only becoming more popular with locals and holiday markers alike. Cowes is now home to 3 of the island's best coffee shops and several restaurants I can't get enough of. It sits in easy reach of the surf beaches, national park and Phillip Island Winery.

"Contemporary Cowes with popular tree lined shopping strip and the best beaches"
The esplanade is very picturesque with norfolk pines and walking path along the beach. There are many spots to enjoy the sunset on the main beach and even Red Rock Beach. The sizeable pier and new Jetty Triangle and Piazza in 2019 make the beach front very beautiful. The suburb has many schools including the newly built and popular Our Lady Star of the Sea Primary School. It is the most populous area on Phillip Island and looks out towards the back of the Mornington Peninsula. The close by golf courses are also a main attraction of the suburb.
The Phillip Island to Mornington Peninsula Car Ferry is also set to benefit the suburb for transportation and tourism to become better connected to Melbourne. The newly built Cowes Health/Medical Hub and Aquatic Centre is also very modern and the Cowes Transit Centre and all day carpark is set to cater to tourists flocking to the area in summer. Cowes is also getting a cutting edge and architecturally deigned library/cultural and community centre. Cowes has been transformed into a modern suburb with newly built houses and estates at settlement rd towards the back of the suburb. The suburbs popularity can be shown through the amount of 4-storey apartments common in the area. Cowes really is the CBD of Phillip Island as well as San Remo.

"Overcrowded in the Summer and in desperate need of some love"
Phillip Island is undoubtedly a lovely place, but the traffic to get to Cowes in Summer is nothing short of ridiculous. It could take up to 90 minutes to get from Bass to Cowes in Summer. The other issue with such a popular tourist destination is not the locals, but rather the visitors who don't always take care of the place. A lot of shops for rent on the main street of Cowes and the shopping strip has become very dated.
"Cowes, Victoria - Perfect for a relaxing time out."

"Great place to relax"
Churchill Island is a great place to visit when you're on Philip Island - the food is brilliant at the Farm and I believe the Chill Island events are great.
My son loved the farm animals and the freedom to run around.
