Reviews of Dalby, QLD
"Great Place to Live and Work"
I was born and raised in Dalby and now have a family of my own and live and work in this great town. Dalby really has everything you could possibly want and need and we are not too far from the coast and city if the need arrives. My Kids Love this town and are never short on things to do.

"Great little spot"
We have recently moved to Dalby and have so far found it a beautiful little spot. Houses are affordable and our neighbours are great. Dalby has everything we need but Toowoomba is only 50 mins away if you need to visit a city. Schools are great and our children have fitted in perfectly. Lots of attractions around like lakes for fishing and boating and being 50 mins from the Bunya mountains is a real bonus.
Only downside for us so far is no medical centres are taking on new patients so have had to do phone consults back to Brisbane which will become a problem in the future.
As for the crime, we haven't seen any of it yet but have definitely heard stories about break ins and disorderly behaviour. But that is everywhere.
Would definitely recommended Dalby if you are looking for a quiet lifestyle.

"Great energy great town"
I have lived in Dalby a while now, here are my thoughts.
-Woolies/coles are good and Foodworks is the best as they are open longer hours.
-Adequate shops - there is enough shops.
-Toowoomba is 1 hour away - good size place and good for day trips.
-Chincilla was a little gem 1 hour away too
-All people are friendly when you go up the street. Everyone is very helpful.
- Merrits bakery is the best they do most takeaway foods and Lums chinese is very good too.
Give Dalby a go its a good little place.
"Great Place to Raise Kids"
Dalby is a friendly family orientated town. There is a good community spirit with plenty of sports available for all age groups including school and club sports. If you are looking to invest in the rental market Dalby is an ideal venture for you being in the heart of the resource sector there is always a demand for rental houses. For the fitness family there are plenty of options available with both an indoor pool and outdoor pool, a PCYC, and an abundance of gyms and boot camps available. If you enjoy bush walking, Dalby is located on the fringe of the Bunya Mountains where you can enjoy a picnic, one day walk, or holiday in the rainforest in the many short term rental houses available. If water skiing is more your thing then you are covered; with Lake Broadwater available for day trippers or Boondooma Dam being a popular holiday spot for many water lovers from Dalby. Overall there is a little something for everyone in Dalby.

"Expensive little town, with not much to do especially with a small family."
It is a very clicky place. Toowoomba is an hour away on a mainly one lane, pothole ridden hway. When you have small children there really isn't much for you to do other than go to the park. There are 2 chinese restaurants, a few pubs and the RSL and Leagues clubs to go to. The price of petrol is about 15 cents more expensive than the coast and the groceries are dearer too. It gets down to below zero in winter the ays are fairly nice though. There are not many footpaths or street drainage so when it floods it really floods. Water sits around for days after it rains and it gets quite boggy everywhere. There is a nice area along the river though.

- Expensive

"Not much to do."
Don't try and join in if you are new. People from committees complain that they can't get any help but they don't encourage new people to join. Most are not open to new ideas. Nothing to do at night if you don't like pubs. You need a car because there is NO public transport. The basic shops are here and Toowoomba is only an hours drive for Myer and the bigger stores. There is plenty of work if you are willing to do it.

"In Dalby, you aren't a local unless you've been here five years"
Shopping is pricey, schools are underfunded, renting a decent house can be expensive. Good for smaller town vibe, several pubs with some nightlife. Employment can be hard to find. great place for a change, closer than brisbane to the mines for miners and their familys.

"Good country town that keeps getting better!"
Great place to live to be near gas and coal work opportunities. Good range of housing choices and good price range. Most houses on nice big blocks and most have rainwater tanks. Easy place to live with some nice local walks and parks. Close to the Bunya Mountains holiday area with stunning rainforests, giant bunya trees and quaint village. Dalby has adequate shopping with great health food shop, a good range of small retail and franchises/mall shopping. Wide range of pub food and coffee shops. Plenty of sport and good schools. Some flooding but Dalby came out of it pretty good compared to many other towns in Qld. Greens up lovely with rain, hot days, lovely nights.

"Dalby has my vote if even though I don't live there"
I'm coming over from UK to compete in the Ozi model aircraft championships, held at Dalby club ground just outside town and bexause my Ozi life revolves around Brisbane and Mundubbera Dalby is smack in the middle!
I'm booked in at the camping park, single unit so no shareing, plus it will be great to meet up with my mates from the Brisbane Free Flight Society. I might not be Oz but I like to keep up on events and calling in at Dalby makes me think of why Oz is the can do country.
Its there, you've got it. Its all real.
What more do you need - well just don't forget my booking for 27 December at the tourist park!
PS There are so many people coming to this event, if you have any interest go along, my mates from NSW and NZ arepleading for accommodation.
Wishing you all well in Dalby.
Love Broone

"A good place to live"
Dalby has just what you are looking for in a town. Enough shops and businesses to keep you happy, but close enough to a city if you need more. Friendly people and plenty of opportunity to get involved. Quiet neighbourhoods and nice houses with landscaped yards. Especially on the north western side of town (ie north of Warrego Hwy and west of Bunya Hwy). Would recommend it for families. Playgroup, childcare, kindagym, PCYC, child health nurses, hospital and schools are all good. Not too much traffic. Kids ride bikes in the streets and play footy in the front yards. People say hello. And invite you to bbq's. I suggest living close to town and leave the car in the garage and walk to shops. Good services (except public transport). Good climate. A few good cafes/pubs/restaurants. Close enough to the coast for weekends away at the beach.

"About Dalby"
Dalby is a vibrant town known for its friendly atmosphere, and great shopping and dining.
Positioned on the doorstep of the beautiful Bunya Mountains, historic Jimbour House, wineries, Jondaryan Woolshed and other local attractions, Dalby has become a popular place to stay, relax and explore.
Business opportunities in Dalby continue to expand with growing energy developments and strong agricultural industry. As a local real estate agent I have been studying the market trends for a while now, and have seen a steep increase in house and land prices. As Dalby continues to grow and expand I believe the prices won't stop rising any time soon.
