Very green and established suburb 30minutes from the city in the green wedge of Melbourne. Large blocks, with mature trees. Bird life is nothing short of tranquil. Lots to love if you are ready to let go of the tram line and enjoy a new pace of life, just a short trip to be back in the thick of it. Best of both worlds!

I've lived all over Melbourne, including in the north west, west and outer east, and of all the places I've been Greensborough is the best.

It has a great combination of nature and amenities and is really well connected by freeways and public transport. Getting to Melbourne airport is straightforward and not too long for those that travel regularly.

Greensborough is a big suburb and so different areas have different vibes. The pockets along Elder Street and Henry Street are particularly appealing, with many charming period homes and easy access to neighbouring Montmorency, Watsonia and Lower Plenty shopping strips.

Once the north east link project is completed I can only imagine it will be even better, though be aware that houses close to construction areas will experience some medium term disturbances.

Overall I really love living in Greensborough and think it's a good bet for couples or families looking for space and ambience without being too far out from the city or inner city suburbs.

Always wanted to live in this leafy pocket of Melbourne and were lucky to get into the house market during the 2019 price drop. We wanted to start a family and Greensborough had so much to offer such as multiple walking tracks/parks, lovely neighbours, public transport, shops and the main reason schools!

Be aware though there are many pockets of Greensborough due to the freeway,rivers and parks and depending where you pick has pros and cons. So I tried to do a little quick summary of the main pockets:
-Apollo parkways primary area Negatives are very reliant on using only 3 rds- plenty river drv (giveway both ways to exit) diamond Creek Rd and the bypass. It's harder to get in and out of during peak times. Some parts are extremely hilly to walk. Positives are great primary schools close by, library, basketball stadium, very leafy especially down by the river.
Oh and be aware that this area is in a different council to the rest of Greensborough.
- Greenhills area. Negatives can't think of any really? Positives are great primary school, leafy, larger blocks and houses, nature reserve in the middle.
- Delta and Hendry St area (the main bulk of the suburb) negatives are higher crime area and not as leafy as its more suburbia. Positives are very connected and closer to CBD and infrastructure, Watsonia Heights primary is actually in Greensborough and located here.
- Booyan cres area. Negatives are one way in and out, not walking distance to anything really. Positives are great walking tracks around it and foot access to neighbouring Bundoora.
- Kalparrin area. Negatives are 2 ways in and out. Positives are kalparrin gardens, walking distance or 5min drive to all major facilities and infrastructure. Connected to watsonia north via road and paths.

Greensborough combines a leafy landscape with great shopping, decent public transport and convenient access to the city, airport and Yarra Valley region. Have loved living here. There's a good mix of young families, couples and retired folk. We'd never lived in the area before (previously lived in Essendon), but have been surprised by how much we've enjoyed the different vibe. There's a lot of nature to be enjoyed, including heaps of different birds in our backyard. It's a great lifestyle.

Greensborough is a fantastic suburb to live, especially with kids. Transport, shops, parks, and all basic amenities can easily be accessed. In terms of school, plenty to pick! Especially Watsonia Heights Primary school is a good one to send kids to, considering the result from recent years. Other good ones include Apollo parkways and Greenhills, though on the other side of Greensborough.

I've grown up in the Diamond Valley area my whole life and don't plan on moving! Greensborough itself has so much to offer... beautiful parks, endless shops at the plaza to browse and a number of great schools to choose for the little ones. The community as a whole is very welcoming and accomodating. Great suburb to live and work in!

Lovely area to live in, plenty of outdoor activities to participate in. Take long walks or cycle through wonderful parts. Public transportation is accessible. The only thing to gripe about is the lack of variety with shops, restaurants, and options for a late night outing... or variety in general. Also the neighbood is fairly tranquil, but there are those occasional neighbors that will become rowdy on the weekend or you'll hear late night speeders racing each other. Very much a family location or for any one looking for a low key life. As a renter in the area, houses are not on par with superb conditions (as in new, air systems, heating) yet are very pricey... just throwing that out.

Greensborough is big and the different areas vary greatly. The streets off Henry St are lovely - established 50s-60s homes, many parks, including a running/bicycle track through parklands. Lots of dining options nearby such as the very trendy Mabel Jones for brunch. Greensborough Plaza is only a short walk away and has a new luxurious cinema seats and brand new dining precinct. A surprising well-kept secret is the proximity to the city - my husband rides his bicycle to work in the city every day in under 50 mins. Only 25mins drive to the city at off-peak times (longer during peak hour - bring on the North-East link!)... as I said, though, it is a big suburb and there are some less-than-desirable pockets, such as around the pub in Main St, near Savers and the bus depot. These are not residential areas, though, and most areas of the suburb are incredibly beautiful and safe. There is no freeway noise in most areas of Greensborough (maybe there is in the spots closer to Watsonia North?), also I have never come across hoons (as mentioned in another review). I have lived here for seven years after moving from Kew. I feel safer in Greensborough than in Kew or Hawthorn, though both those areas are very beautiful.
