"Hillside, a family suburb"
We moved to Hillside almost two years ago. It’s a beautiful, safe, family-friendly suburb with all the facilities and amenities nearby. The travel to the city is so easy. The city is almost 20 km away. The train takes only 30 minutes to get to the city from Watergardens station, Watergarden shopping mall is great. There are national parks nearby to enjoy a hike during the lockdown. The houses are still quite affordable.

"Too far out"
Too long to drive, no public transport access. Very new meaning basically no shops or facilities. Maybe will improve with time but for now its just a blank slate

"Good value, doesn’t feel like a community"
We lived in Hillside for 5 years. You can buy a good quality house for much less than suburbs closer to the city. Close to Watergardens Shopping Centre and an easy train ride to the CBD, but don’t expect an easy car park. Very multi-cultural suburb. People keep to themselves, and it lacks a sense of community. Crime was starting to become an issue, particularly youth and crazy motorists.
"Larger Homes on Larger Blocks"
Hillside has great facilities, including childcare, medical and schools. Many parks and recreational areas are dotted through the many precincts of this suburb, including Cypress Rise, Banchory Grove, Parkwood Green, Bellevue Hill, Sugargum, Hillside 2000, and Regency Rise.
Mostly owner occupied home with a small amount of rentals. Wide roads, many accesses to freeway and low traffic congestion make this suburb easy to get around.
"everyone keeps to themselves attitude, good size roads and not so congested as the new estates are ."
conveniently located ,easy access to city and the west
