Morayfield, QLD 4506

The suburb is extremely built up with constant traffic & constant construction, everyone drives like a lunatic & there are a ton of bogans living in the area due to Caboolture being nearby

I am a retired person. Because of a stroke, public transport is a real problem. Taxi service is poor, many times a 2hour wait, some times, no show at all. I live along Oakey flat road, which has been upgraded. No one can tell me when buses will service this area

We moved into Morayfield at the start of the year and are loving the area!

I lived here for a few years. It's not a bad place really, it has everything you could need & there seems to be more and more all the time happening. Big shopping centre, all the restaurants & fast food. Medical, hospital not far & big format stores - some new ones have opened up some new growth potential. Only thing of course is Morayfield is still crawling with undesirables & it can be very very busy, particularly when Morayfield Rd is used as a cut-through to the gridlocked highway.

I enjoy that it is close to the train station, restaurants, beaches, taverns, schools, playgrounds, shopping centres, doctors, hospitals etc...only problem is there really needs an update for transport as there are no buses that travel through the streets, which is a let down. I have also had a person try and break into my house more then once and apparently the new method of breaking in is through the roof watch out for that! There is an older playground which has graffiti and pen marks which aren't pleasant and should be covered...not the quietest place to live, but I'd rather here then the city. There are a few negatives to living here which is unfortunate, but then again there are also positives.

I have lived in Morayfield for 4 years and have never had a problem. I live out near the highway and the biggest problem is sub woofers but not to the point of despair. I bought here as it was cheap and I havent ever had a problem with crime or theft. I will move away one day as I dont like Brisbane in general but for the moment it is hamdy for shops, highway access, beaches including Redcliffe peninsula and 24 minutes to surf beaches on Bribie Island. There are areas to avoid such as streets around Stefanie and Michael Avenue, but closer to the highway it is quite peaceful. There are always going to be people to be wary of in most suburbs but I will say its ok for me and Im happy there.

I didn’t enjoy living in morayfield but I did enjoy the relationships with neighbours. I can see how it would be a good place for first home buyers to get into the property market. The homes are older which can add character but I experienced 2 incidences of vandalism and 1 attempted break in during the 2 years I lived here. The neighbours were good though and kept an eye out for others. The streets are busy and I heard fights outside on a few ocasions. The police are responsive and attended very quickly on the occasions I had to call them. The shopping and ammenities in the area are good. It’s not a fancy suburb but it doesn’t pretend to be.. I think if you are starting out it can give you a good foot into the property market. Just take the time to get to know your neighbours and ensure your security is in check. Also my experience of morayfield was in the more suburban region, I have heard that the acreage streets behind the shops don’t have the same troubles with crime.

New young family, this area has a number of preschools, doctors and chemists, everything is a 2 minute drive or a short walk.
The car parks are undercover, so no super-hot car to put bub into.
We are really happy with the area.

I have lived in Morayfield for 11 years and intend to for many years to come. Surrounded by the parks, beaches, and a short drive to the sunshine coast there are so many recreational options. Most streets off the main roads are quiet and there is a broad range of housing options from quaint cottages to large modern homes.
The massive range of retail outlets offers your convenience shopping, post office, news agent, fast food etc and supermarket woolworths, Bunnings, Cinerma, There is also an IGA.There is a wide range of schools in the area, the university is very close and the train is a short trip into Brisbane.
The block sizes are what made us move out here, you will get easily 800m2-1200m2 for under 400k.

I love my local - everything I need in one place no having to drive elsewhere and find another park and only living less than 5 minutes away makes it even better ��

Pros:
-Great area, we got a 1000m2 block with a 4-bed house and pool for under 400k, we are 500 meters from a Woolworths, Aldi, Chemist so on, the train station is nearby and heads into the city, not a long trip, I work in the city. I really like that everything I need is a 2-minute drive. And I mean everything, Morayfield has every type of shop. most importantly a Bunnings.
- Internet in our area is insane, NBN, we get 139 Mbps.
-The health hub is amazing, heaps of doctors, x-ray, dentists so on, everything medical under one roof, most impressive doctor clinic I have ever seen, all bulk billed.
-We are on the southern part of Graham Road, nearly in Burpengary, really nice area, the local member is also the minister for police, so lots of resources for police, it's a really safe area.
-If you are over living in an apartment, or a postage stamp block, trying to get on the market, and want space I would suggest looking out to this area.
- the local council are good, lots of investment going into the area, massive sports, and aquatic center upgrades, if you have an issue you can use snap send solve app and they come and fix it.
- Some houses walking distance to schools, preschools, the University is a 10-minute drive.
- Short drive to Bribie Island, great spot to head for a weekend brunch.
- Rates are cheap
- 15-minute drive to north lakes, IKEA and Costco
- 45 minutes to Caloundra

Cons:
- Some areas are low lying, so check the flood maps before you buy, our house is 28m above sea level, so well outside of flood range, but make sure you check.
- Lack of restaurants, but this is slowly changing
- Water is billed pretty high, suggest water saving devices on any property you lease/own

I am so glad I bought a home in morayfield to raise the kids. The large established blocks of land close to schools made it a no brainer when it came time to decide which house to buy.
Our Neighbours are great! The most helpful and understanding people ive ever met.
We got everything we wanted and more from buying here, and paid 1/2 the price we would have closer to the city, and got double the size of land we would have if we built in a new estate.
45mins from Brisbane with easy access to the highway and train into the city, 30mins to the beach or rainforest, large retail district with everything you need at your fingertips.
We love living here. I feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful place within our small first homebuyer budget to raise the kids.

Morayfield is a small city in my eyes. It has a huge shopping complex with almost anything you could want and buy, Has several schools and plenty of places to eat out. Traffic is never to huge of a wait in less of road works of course. Plenty of parks, a 30min drive to the beach and the Sports club and High school is right next to the Morayfield train station. Trains run very frequently and so does the local bus. It an alright place to live and grow up!

I found this a really safe place to live despite the fact that it is supposed to be a 'high crime' area. I had no issues with break ins, and no troublesome neighbors. The only mystery was with my cat who came home with a broken leg - don't know if someone broke it, hit her with a car, or what. But the cat was given expert attention by local vets.

We like the area,been here 4 years.Love the peace and quiet.Street neighbours never a problem,respectful of privacy while friendly.The shopping and business options are better than most and constantly growing.Close to a lot of major yearly events so plenty happening.We live in Excelsior Park so have room to spread out,has good street appeal.On the down side,there's a low socio- economic overhang of caboolture suburbs with welfare recipients which brings bad elements, still it's better than Burpengary but if you stick to the acreage you won't find better value.Bus services through the acreage area is non existent.A lot of development happening,always a good thing.

Just like most other towns, morayfield has its good spots and not so good spots, so stay in the good areas and its all good. Lived here for 3 yrs on both the east side and west side of morayfield, prefer the east, but never had any troubles with the community or hoons. The new developed areas are great for young families and is ever expanding, it is average livable place for the average income families. Has all the great shops, just needs a WOW!! Close to the sunshine coast and the city which is a seller if u work all over the shop.

Minxiepinx I agree they are thick people, problem is they don't know any better they are just doing what there families have done. Good thing is, you and I know better and we just move on up and out. There is some families with money here but they don't live in the low socio-economic parts. It is a shame your son safety was at risk. The only reason I live here becuase I want a large piece of land. I just look at those dumbies and think I never want to be like that. I understand that you would not want to subject your son to this environment. The local Police need to more diligent in stopping the hoons and the local council needs to be more active in the town centre.

Morayfield has some really affordable housing and so close to a major shopping centre. Acerage is still very reasonable and underpriced.

Well.... too much to say its a beautiful place the housing is very affordable the beaches are not far away & the community is very safe we bought here only because we felt safe excelsior park is fantastic what more can i say!

Morayfield has some awesome areas like Excelsior Park, close to shops (anything you can possible want), beautiful parks & nature. Public transport is the best. Just a great place to live.

This is a beautiful up & coming area the housing is very affordable the parks are green and very well kept the shopping is great & the people are friendly and very forthcoming

I have lived in Wimbledon Park Estate Morayfield for over three years and have found it to be a quiet and friendly area. There is reliable public transport and it's conveniently located between the city and the Sunshine Coast. Every conceivable shop and service you might need is within a 10 minute drive, and there are lots of schools to choose from, plus a university at Caboolture. It's a great place for families, retirees and commuters.

I have been staying in Morayfield for two years on and off due to work and and I agree with Rod that it's not a nice place. You need a good set of earplugs to drown out the hoons on a Friday and Saturday night and any night really, they don't work so are not fussy about what nights they go out. The decent residents are at the Mercy of the noisy ones, late night drinking sessions and barking dogs.
There is always plenty of rubbish lying around and a lot of sad looking streets and houses. The shopping may be pretty good but that doesn't make up for having to live in a suburb that's gone down the toilet. Sorry folks but that's what it's been like for me so don't bother saying I don't know what I am talking about, believe me... I DO.

Living in the epicentre of Moronfield for the past 3.5 years, I have come to loathe this place deeply. I have been constantly abused and threaten by wandering drunks that take refuge in the poorly constructed playgrounds surrounded by dirty main roads. The constant hoons roaring up and down streets, accompanied by freight trains running through the night is unbearable. There is nothing nice in Morayfield, everything seems so lifeless, no breeze ever seems to flow through the town, it's always hot and muggy, and it's very disappointing to come home to after a hard days work.

I'd recommend Narangba as a better place to live, much nicer, friendlier community, lush flora and fauna, quiet and peaceful. Which is why we are moving there and leaving Morayfield as a distant memory and travel destination.

Morayfield boasts close proximity to beaches, parks, sporting facilities and an extensive range of retail outlets. Complete with some of the big retail chains as well as hundreds of small businesses. The area has transformed itself over the last 15 years from a thriving farming hub to a bustling city, still carrying that rural center feel to it. Well catered for in education requirements with at least 3 private schools, 3 state high schools and 5 state primary schools and a QUT tafe college.
A state of the art Police station, several medical centres and a well appointed modern hospital compliment the town to make this one of the most livible areas in Australia.
