Reviews of Parkville, VIC
"An escape from the city, yet right next to the city. A wonderful place to call home!"
What an amazing place to call home just a stone throw from the CBD. We are spoiled for choice with many parks, multiple sporting facilities, and great public transportation with both tram and train. I love being close to all the happening and busy suburbs like Brunswick, Carlton, Fitzroy but still being able to go back to our tranquil suburb.

"Beautiful parks, preserved historic homes"
Great for
- A very pretty suburb. South Parkville has a fine display of beautifully preserved homes from the late 1800's
- New parkland being developed at the site of the old children's hospital.
- A breath of fresh air in the city
- Good for fitness
Not great for
- Traffic becoming heavier like everywhere else in Melbourne. SLOW DOWN EVERYONE!! ENJOY THE PARKS!!
- Demolition work at the children's hospital noisy but should be finished soon.

"A place to call home!"
I was renting there 1 year ago, we left due to professional commitment. Now we are missing it and want to come back.
We miss the CADE, we are looking to buy there.

"Quite expensive, Very crowded, Bad traffic jams, feels congested"
Bad place to live, better to live in the east for the price you will be paying. Would rather live in suburbs which are safer with good schools like burwood, heidelburg, thornbury, northcote, fairfield in the east or notrh east...Keilor east, Strathmore, Niddrie in North west are pretty good as well.
Not great for
- Congested
- Expensive
- People not as friendly

"Loaded with parks and walking distance to the city"
This is suburbia at its best. Quiet and relaxed with plenty of parks and places to run, walk, cycle or do whatever else you may want to do.
There are gold courses nearby for the golf lovers which just adds to the green feel.
There aren’t a lot of places to go out for a drink around the immediate area but it’s not too far from a number of places, including the city and all it has to offer.
Its also not far to Brunswick and the great restaurants and café’s for that Sunday brunch.
It’s a great spot to get close to Melbourne University but probably out of the price range for most students although there is a good mix of places available.
It is well serviced by public transport but you could walk into the city.

Hi good day Matrixeng,
Would you please consider my apartment at 1009/61 Galada Avenue (Thrive) as I'm alright to sell at a discounted price afterall I don't live in Melbourne anymore. My unit 2R2B1C is centrally facing green park with great view of the morning sunshine. If you are keen, you may contact my agent Angela Wu of Paragon Real Estate. You can take a good look at my unit at Realestate.com.au.
Thank you.
