Sydney (Greater) Region is located in the state of New South Wales.
Ive heard different advice, some say once every 23 years, others say yearly. Since coastal areas tend to be more humid and have a lot of timber homes, Im wondering whats realistic. For anyone living in places like Forster or Taree, how often do you actually get termite inspections done, and has it helped prevent major issues?

As a buyers agent, I always recommend homeowners in coastal towns like Forster or Taree to get a termite inspection every 6 to 12 months. The warm, humid climate and surrounding bushland make these areas high-risk for termite activity. If your property is timber-built or near water, aim for every six months; otherwise, yearly is fine. Regular inspections are a small cost that protect your home’s value and prevent major damage later on.
