Looking to find great live music in Sydney?

Sydney is a great city for experiencing new music, so many great venues to choose from. I have listed down some of the ones scattered across.

The Oxford Art Factory
http://oxfordartfactory.com/
Inspired by Andy Warhol, this two roomed venue has played host to many acts over the years.

The Enmore Theatre
http://www.enmoretheatre.com.au/
Built in 1908, the art deco theater is decorated with amazing old rock n roll posters from over the years. It has had The Rolling Stones through to Wu Tang Clan play here.

The Vanguard in Newtown
http://www.thevanguard.com.au/
This intimate 1920’s themed venue is used for a variety of events and great for a seeing something new.

It depends on the kind of music you're after. But I prefer smaller venues that showcase local talent such as:

For Jazz and Funk 6 nights a week I like Venue 505 in Surry Hills http://venue505.com/.

For Indie pop, DJs, Electronic dance music and some Hip hop head to The Beach Road Hotel in Bondi http://beachroadbondi.com.au/#whats-on, best of all they have free live music.

For Rock music and bands try Newtown Social Club http://newtownsocialclub.com/ where you get 20% off pre-show meals.

I was going to throw in 505, but its already been mentioned. It is found behind a rather lackluster door on Cleveland Street.

I absolutely love the live music in The Metro Theatre. You can see the beautiful stage from the bar inside the theatre, wow...
