Mould in rental property...what are our rights?
Sydney (Greater) Region is located in the state of New South Wales.
Im about to move into a property on saturday, we signed the lease yesterday and have just done our entry inspection...during the inspection we have found mould! Being Asthmatics this is a no go for us. what are our rights? We have paid our deposit, bond etc and signed the lease although we dont yet have a copy of the lease as it had to be signed by the boss...What are our rights? Can we refuse the lease and not incur costs?

1stly put it on your Condition Report.
Talk to your real estate agent about it. Discuss how to prevent the mould for the future as well.
There is a great article in SMH which has some more natural solutions in treating & cleaning mould: http://smh.domain.com.au/blogs/talking-property/dealing-with-condensation-20120814-2464h.html
Good luck!
