Real estate wont show property to potential tenants
Sydney (Greater) Region is located in the state of New South Wales.
Hi,
I had a signed agreement for an “exclusive rent agreement” with an agent. After the current tenant gave notice to vacate, I had a problem with the real estate and gave them notice that I was terminating the Exclusive agreement. In the agreement I have to give 30 days’ notice which I have done.
The real estate has now written back and said I can’t change agents straight away, due to not giving enough notice (I agreed) but have stated that they had a tenant ready to sign but now won’t sign them as I am changing agents or look at any other potential tenants for the property.
This means that I now have a vacant home and the current agent refuses to show the property to tenants until the 30 days is finished.
Is this legal?
