Yes Ian, as i am a currently accredited private certifier for pool fence compliance the time is now to have your pool fence checked and fixed before the rush for April 2016 starts, In my business Armstrong Pool Inspections we are noticing an increase in inspections.

I have done some research to answer my own Question. Perhaps nobody is really that concerned as it doesn't come into effect until next year? Perhaps there are not as many back yard pools in Sydney as I think? Perhaps this question is just too far off to worry about? WRONG! The Legislation is already in place, it just is not being enforced YET!
Did you know that the N.S.W. Government Swimming Pool & Spa safety legislation (delayed twice) will apply from 29th April 2016. The upshot for Pool and Spa owners in N.S.W. is that they will not be able to Sell or Lease their property after that date without a current Swimming Pool & Spa Safety Certificate. No problem you say "my Pool and Spa comply" maybe not? It is estimated that 90% of pools and/or spas fail the first inspection.
No problem you say "I will deal with it when I want to sell or lease!" Perhaps not a good idea when you consider that there is only a handful of suitably qualified Pool Certifiers in N.S.W. to inspect over 350,000 pools and spas. It is estimated that a Pool Safety Certificate could take between 6 and 9 weeks to obtain, and even longer if rectification work is required.
My advice is do something about it now! Seek the advice of a qualified Certifier before the headlong rush in the Q2 2016.
There are ways to expedite the Certification but you will have to act now......... Ask me how!

Hi Ian, I am a licensed and accredited E1 Swimming Pool Certifier. Current council laws and NSW regulations require all pools and spas to be certified. https://www.clearviewpropertyinspections.com.au/pool-safety-inspection-and-certification/
