What paperwork do I need to rent a place in Melbourne?

I am a first time renter here in Melbourne, and I was wondering what paperwork do I need to rent a place in the city?

Firstly you will need ID to enter any property inspection, but then when applying for a property you will need to provide:
- 100 points of ID (passport, drivers license, bank statement etc)
- Any supporting evidence you'll be a good tenant (bank statements, written references from employees, cover letter, etc)
- Fill the tenancy application out in full (make sure all the information you provide is correct and not misleading as its a legal document)

That's pretty much it, but as the agent at the inspections. Remember to be polite as the agent is the one that recommends the tenant to the landlord!
