"Backpackers Are Everywhere"
Running parallel to Smith Street from its origins at Lambell Terrace, Mitchell Street is equally busy, especially when it gets to the CBD area. Bars, bistros, cafes abound here and several backpacker hostels and proximity of the bus transit centre create a vibe that is definitely young and electric. One of my favourite bars is Monsoon, where the beer is cold and the food is sensational. Indoor and outdoor tables are available at most restaurants.
