"Best Beach in the World"

I grew up in Mullaloo and went to Mullaloo Heights Primary School. My family lived in 3 different houses in Mullaloo over a decade or so. I think Mullaloo Beach is one of the best beaches on the planet.

"My dream came true."

15 years ago when I immigrated to Australia I had a dream to buy a beach house. Finally my dream came true! I can’t believe how lucky we are to buy our house in Mullaloo. Beautiful beaches, amazing sunsets, surrounded by natural dunes, excellent neighbors, and a fantastic community. There are so many activities for the kids and the weather is fantastic most of the time.

Unfortunately Mullaloo also attracts a lot of hoon drivers that don’t seem to appreciate the wonderfulness of our suburb, but we shall not let them to spoil it for us !! (and hopefully one day our politicians will start to do something in that regard).

"Family Coastal Suburb"

Our family have lived in Mullaloo for 22 years , my husband Glenn and I bought our house when our children were young so they have been fortunate to grow up in a lovely family orientated suburb where they spent many a time at Tom Simpson Park , Black Boy park and down at our Mullaloo Beach .The changes over the years is the old Mullaloo pub (where we had our first date) was pulled down and now known as the MBH hotel , lots of coffee shops to choose from Dome , Dat's Amore italian cafe, Swell Restaurant , Grafton Street & Dropinz Cafe . Our Mullaloo Plaza shopping centre has had a revamp ,with a wide range of shops & salons to meet all your needs. We have a lovely community and whilst we have a population of approx 6000 as many Mullaloo people say "once you move to Mullaloo you stay in Mullaloo " , the owner occupancy is around 85% we encourage those coming to our beautiful beach and parks to please clean up after yourself , be mindful of others and enjoy it as we do.

"fantatsic little beachside suburb"

Beautiful suburb to live in with (in my opinion) Perth's best beach!
Also, the new restaurant and entertainment at Hillary's nearby is fantastic and has created a buzz and lots of places to eat and drink.

"You won't consider anywhere else once you've lived here."

At point of writing this review, Mullaloo is ranked 28th in Greater Perth. That is a sheer understatement. Mullaloo is easily one of the safest suburbs in WA, ranking up in the top 5 places to live in metropolitan Perth. You can have your late evening walk anywhere here and know you'll come home in one piece! Safety was our number one priority when we were shopping for a home. Just check the stats at www.police.wa.gov.au/Crime/Crime-Statistics-Portal

There is just one property listed as public housing here, so make your own conclusions.

The suburb is "split" in two, thanks to the road that is Dampier Avenue. It goes without saying that properties to the left of Dampier Avenue, like ours, are of course worth more moolah.

We bought our first home here and it looks like we'll be staying here till the end of our lives. It's just that good. If we bought another property it would be Mullaloo again. This suburb needs to be seen to be believed.

Our magnificent Tom Simpson Park just had a great makeover; beach (pristine fine, white sand - absolutely no rocks) is just five minutes' walk from home, shops just around the corner. We have 2 large shopping centres in the form of Westfield Whitfords (3 minutes' drive) and Lakeside Joondalup (10 minutes' drive). Hillarys Boat Harbour where I fish most times, is just 7 minutes away. Ocean Reef Boat Harbour is a 4 minute drive and once the marina is redeveloped will make us truly spoilt for choice.

Temperatures here in summer are 7-15 degrees cooler than the city. On a 40 degree day, a reading of 25-30 degrees in Mullaloo isn't unusual. Just check www.bom.gov.au/places/wa/hillarys/observations/

Neighbours along our street are nothing but smiles all day. Always so helpful, modest and humble.

Large, aged trees adorn the suburb's undulating terrain. Quiet is as quiet can be; you could hear a pin drop anytime during the day. ADSL2+ and cable is available all through. Whitfords Medical Centre is just 3 minutes away and Craigie Medical Centre only 5. Cheapest metropolitan petrol prices can be had in several places if you know where to look, for e.g. Caltex Whitfords.

Train takes just 17 minutes to the city. Driving 20-25 minutes. Peak hours 35 minutes if you drive the way I do. Why live anywhere near the hot, polluted and congested CBD?

In a nutshell, everything that one needs is within reach - just check Google Maps and you'll find all the stores you need within a radius of 5-10km!

Mullaloo isn't for everyone though. Bogans (cashed up or otherwise) should stay away. Only classy, considerate, educated and privileged people need apply. Tell people you live in Mullaloo and eyes will go grassy green with envy.

Yes, we can have our cake here, and eat it!

Great for

  • Close to everything
  • 30 seconds to the beach
  • 15 minutes to the city
  • Family friendly
  • Bars, Restuarnts and Clubs
  • Shark occurrences during summer which proves it's even favourited by wildlife!

"Community Feeling"

Mullaloo is a great suburb. Fantastic white sand beaches and safe for water lovers.

"Fantastic beachside lifestyle"

Mullaloo offers a fantastic beachside lifestyle combined with a safe, friendly community. It has big blocks with established trees on sloping hills - many have vantage points taking in the sunsets over the beautiful indian ocean. The white sandy beach is second to none in Perth. Because you are right on the ocean you benefit from a cooling afternoon sea breeze in summer and the tempering effect of the ocean during these few cold nights in winter. There are 2 local public primary schools which have a great reputation - I can confirm this with 2 of my own children at Mullaloo Beach Primary. The local supermarket allows you to park within 50 meters of the cashier. What you can't get in Mullaloo is only a 10 min drive in either Whifords or Joondalup. The only drawback is the peak hour commute to the city(about 45 min) which reduces to 25 min at other times. Public transport is a good alternative. Hillary's Marina and the planned Ocean Reef Marina will only add to the attraction of living in Mullaloo. You can explore it with a bicycle ride through the beautiful bike path through the dunes or a walk on the beach.

Great for

"Nice Suburb close to the beach"

We lived here for about 2 years and although it was mostly OK, we did have problems with teenagers roaming the streets on Friday / Saturday nights. Witnessed a couple of fights at the park in frot of the MBH which isnt great when you have a young family. Still a nice beachside area though, 30 minutes from the city.

"Better than Cottesloe!"

We moved here 14 years ago. It is a beautiful suburb which is so close to one of the best beaches in the area. It is a friendly neighbourhood which offers a safe environment and a peaceful lifestyle. The blocks are a generous size and you just have to stroll around the area to see all the investment in improving the lovely character properties. I like the fact that you can drive to Joondalup in under 10 minutes or there is Whitfords and Hillarys even closer. The new Marina which is planned for Ocean Reef will make the facilities even better. Forget Cottesloe! This is so much nicer and great value too,

You have the great Mullaloo beach hotel, and the lovely Mullaloo Beach at your feet! Really great place to live, been here 7 years now and would never want to move. Great neighbours, no crime. Chirping birds in the mornings, and neighbours jogging / walking. People in the area are fit, healthy and wealthy people, so you get no trouble from anyone. Very safe place to live. "Fabulous Beach life style."

We live in Mullaloo with our young family and love it. We are just a short walk from the school and this has such a community feel to it. We can also just stroll to the most beautiful beach in Perth. It's a great place to bring up children and you can stroll to the MBH for drinks or dinner and now to the Dome for a coffee. There are plenty of parks to bring the children and walk the dog. Love living here... Never want to move.
