The Gardens
30th November 2022

"Incredible Waterfront Location"

The Gardens are incredible! Hidden oasis. Some houses are right on the beach and the others are only a few steps from the water. Good sized land allotments and stunning, stunning area. About 15 - 25 minutes drive from St Helens where there are schools, hospital, supermarkets etc. Just the best.

Beaumaris

"Laid Back Surf Vibe"

Kick back in Beaumaris! There’s no rush here and the vibe is very chilled.
A mix of original shacks and some newer beach houses, Beaumaris is all about being close to the beach and good surf spots. Surfside is the ‘local’ and a great hangout for a burger or beer. Some services are 2km south at Scamander but most things like schools, doctors, hospital etc are 15km north at St Helens.

If you’d like to know more, I’d love to chat!

Binalong Bay

"Pristine Hamlet - Better then the photos!"

Binalong Bay is an exclusive hamlet at the beginning of the Bay of Fires. Homes here are highly sought after, especially those with water views! So homes in Binalong Bay are within walking distance of the water. Life in Binalong is carefree and a very popular place to own a holiday home. In Binalong Bay there’s a well patronised cafe/restaurant as well as coffee available from Bay of Fires Eco Tours. The beaches are safe for swimming and Grants Lagoon is great for kayaking and boating. There’s also a tennis court, playground and viewing platform. The closest school, supermarket etc are in St Helens which is 8 minutes drive. You’ll love Binalong Bay!

"Super close to the beach and wonderful neighbours"

A great street that is quiet and so close to the beach. Literally 200m from the beach! The street is flat and there are great neighbours all round.

Ansons Bay

"A Sleepy Fisherman's Paradise"

Ansons Bay is a small fishing village approx 45 minutes north of St Helens or 40 minutes east of Scottsdale. Primarily positioned on the Ansons River, many homes are absolute riverfront with the ones in Casuarina Lane always popular. Many of the properties are original fishing shacks and are relatively small, but there is a growing number of newer and extended homes popping up.
The closest shop is at Gladstone around 20 minutes away - a small servo, takeaway and minimart. There is also a hotel at Gladstone. St Helens and Scottsdale are the closest towns for larger supermarkets, doctors, hospitals, schools etc.
If you want to get away from it all - very literally - Ansons Bay has peace and quiet in spades.

Alanvale Road

"Handy to Everything"

Alanvale Road is a main arterial road into Mowbray and Newnham and there can be a bit of traffic, but it's so handy to everything. Straight onto the bypass into the city or into Mowbray. You don't notice any road noise once you're inside and the neighbours are generally all friendly and helpful. Mostly retirees and young families live in the immediate area.
Older style homes primarily on the southern end of the street, but furhter north the homes are much newer.

"Living here is like being on a permanent holiday"

Straight across the road from the beach, the Esplanade Turners Beach is where you dream of holidaying. Long wide roads, sandy verges, tree lined streets, people walk everywhere and then you just duck across the road and you're on the beach. Although you can't see the beach or the water from most homes, it's all about proximity.
The Esplanade has such a chilled vibe, it's quiet, minimal traffic, flat and a good mix of natural bush and vegetation.
A beautiful street to live in.

Stieglitz

"A great place to live or holiday that is close to everything"

Stieglitz always makes me feel like on holidays! The vibe is relaxed, there are plenty of boats, caravans and cray pots around the place to make you realise that living in Stieglitz is all about making the most of life by the water.
The area is probably a 50/50 mix of 'shackies' and permanent residents. There's no curb and guttering which makes it feel like the original holiday town that it is - it's relaxed, it's easy and the people are friendly.
In the area there is a take away shop and mini mart that also supply fuel. Parkside Bar & Kitchen is also in Stieglitz which is a great place for a meal 7 days a week.
Homes on the northern side of St Helens Point Road mostly enjoy water views. Parnella Drive is one street back from the main road going through Stieglitz and is where more of the permanent residents live.
There isn't a bus service that goes into St Helens from here (other than the school bus).
It's only a 5 minute drive into St Helens - or you could walk if you're up for it - and St Helens has all the services you'd expect of the largest regional town on Tasmania's east coast: district hospital, school, chemist, vet, newsagency, hotels, restaurants, retail shopping, IGA supermarkets and several sporting groups.
A great place to live or holiday that is close to everything.

Victoria Pde

"The Rolls Royce End of Town"

Facing the Mersey River, Victoria Parade is the elite property location in Devonport. There are some grand residences that line the street and property on Victoria Parade is very much in demand. The public open areas across the road are a lovely outlook and most homes look out to the river. It is a busy stretch of road, but generally only standard vehicles and not really trucks etc. You can watch the Spirit of Tasmania sail through the river mouth each day. It is very close to the business district of Devonport and easy walking distance. Buses service the area for public transport.

Sorell Street

"Family Friendly and Close to Schools"

Sorell Street is a street with many families - and there is not a high turn over of residents. There are many who have lived in this street for over 50 years! It's a mix of 1950's weatherboard homes to some early 70's red brick. An affordable and good area to live. It's really close to Nixon Street Primary School, St Brendan Shaw College and Devonport High School. The street is primarily flat, but the homes on the block on the northern most end are steep and enjoy views of the ocean. It's a good area to raise a family without costing a fortune. There is good access to public transport and the bus stops are not too far away.

St Helens

"Coastal Town with Plenty to Do"

St Helens is the largest town on Tasmania's east coast and is the business hub of the region.
The greater area of St Helens includes the suburbs of Akaroa and Stieglitz.
St Helens is on the shores of Georges Bay and as you travel east toward Stieglitz and Akaroa you'll end up at the open ocean.
The central residential area of St Helens is primarily long term permanent residents, while Stieglitz and Akaroa are a good mix of permanents and holiday makers
The people of St Helens at laid back, friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble.
There is a district school covering Kindergarten to Year 12 as well as the adult trade training centre. Boasting a 10 bed district hospital, dentist, vet and doctors surgery - all your essential need are met.
With two IGA supermarkets, newsagency, chemist, real estate agents, laundromat, surf shops, gift shops and many other speciality retail stores there is a very vibrant shopping district.
St Helens is very well known for it's excellent dining options, with Australia's 2019 best regional restaurant of the year, Furneaux, located overlooking the bay in St Helens. In addition to Furneaux there are many other excellent options as well as the freshest local fish and chips available on St Helens wharf.
With primarily outdoor adventures on the agenda, you'll enjoy mountain bike riding on the St Helens Mountain Bike Trail Network (shuttles & bike hire available locally), fishing charters, golf, beach and jetty fishing, climbing Peron Dunes, exploring the hinterland of the Blue Tier temperate rain forest, beach walks, abundant bird watching and more. If it's based on the sand or the water it's here in St Helens.
Employment is wide and varied with primarily blue collar workers. Anybody who wants to work, has work! There's an abundance of hospitality, cleaning and general maintenance work available year round.
All up, St Helens is a happy little town that enjoys a thriving tourist trade and is a beacon for people looking for a quieter lifestyle in a corner of paradise.

Scamander

"Friendly beach side town without the hustle and bustle"

Scamander is a town of around 600 permanent residents and is just 15 minutes south of St Helens, 15 minutes north of St Marys and 30 minutes from the Bay of Fires.
With the beach generally no more than 400m from any property in town, Scamander is a very popular holiday spot and provides safe areas to swim, fish and surf.
There is an IGA supermarket, post office, petrol station, golf club, bowls club, newsagent, take away, chemist, hotel, bottleshop and coffee shops in Scamander.
In regard to schools, there is the choice of sending your children to either St Helens or St Marys. Both schools incorporate years kinder to 12, with St Helens also offering an adult trade centre.
Both St Helens and St Marys have a district hospital and a full-time paramedic is based on Scamander.
Employment in Scamander is primarily in hospitality, however most people work in St Helens which is the largest town on Tasmania's east coast.
Public transport to St Helens and Launceston is available daily via bus.
You'll find the locals in Scamander are friendly, down to earth and always up for a chat. The beach is clean and you'll usually have it to yourself!
