Reviews of Mitford St, St Kilda
"The heart beat of St Kilda"
Mitford street St Kilda runs from Barkley Street through to Dickens street roundabout. It consists mainly of Apartments and Units. Its full of Young families, Young Professionals, a lot of elderly actually who have been here for for 30/40+ years. On our street we have 3 doctors so it is always easy to get an appointment. We have Acland street walking distance and I hardly ever drive any more with all the cafes, bars, shops less than 100 metres away. The beach is only a short 4 min walk and Balaclava station is a brisk 10min walk.
The best part of Milford street St Kilda is the proximity of a local favourite and thats the St Kilda Botanical gardens, it is the Jewel of the crown in St Kilda and a St Kilda local favourite.
As you can read we have a good selection of people living here and the backpackers we used to be famous for are moving out as rent / housing prices increase and becoming more about young professionals and families.

"Easy to understand the popularity and appeal of Mitford St"
The epicentre of Melbourne’s most vibrant and hip suburb, Mitford St has outstanding visual appeal with its diverse architectural styled homes/apartments along its tree lined wide boulevard & proximity to the very best St Kilda has including 100m to arguably Melbourne’s first & popular multicultural Acland St., 200m from historical & beautiful St Kilda Botanical Gardens & barely a 5min walk to the famous & again historical St Kilda beach & a 10min walk to Elwood beach renowned for its sunsets.

"Great location!"
Mitford street is one of my favorite streets in St Kilda, less than a 5-minute walk to the beach, the St Kilda botanical gardens, and all the fantastic restaurants and bars in the area. Also is a great location for professionals who work in the city, just 15 min drive to the CBD!

"Great and convenient street to live on"
I have lived on Mitford street for over 5 years. It's a very convenient place to live. Close bus stop, and short walk to the 96 on Acland street and 67 Tram on Nappean Hwy. Very close to the great shopping strips: Glen Eira Road, Balaclava, Acland Street, Fitzroy St, Glen Huntly road Elsternwick. 2 Walking distance supermarkets Coles and Woollies and organic supermarkets Leef and Little Hen 15 mins walk. 2 beeches virtually on your doorstep, St Kilda and Elwood. St Kilda Botanical Gardens

"Marvelous Mitford"
Mitford street is a great central street in the heart of St Kilda, it is a lovely, lazy stroll down Mitford street to the beach or to Acland St for local coffee and shops. Conveniently there is a bus that runs down the street running from Elsternwick to Clifton Hill (even stopping on Punt for the MCG if you need!) and if you are a commute cyclist very cental for bike path access in to the CBD either via the beautiful beach route or St Kilda Rd.

Had never herd that - however it is like MAGIC that you can get to the G from St Kilda on 1 bus :)
"Great street"
Mitford Street is an amazing street in St Kilda and it always continues to Elwood. Broadway comes off Mitford Street as well. Many people don't realise Mitford Street is in St Kilda and Elwood, but most people who live on Mitford Street often refer to them selves as both St Kilda and Elwood Residents. Mitford Street is close to the St Kilda and Elwood beaches.

"Mitford Street is the best street St Kilda/ Elwood"
Mitford Street is the best street St Kilda and Elwood. So close to the Acland Street Village with a Coles and a Woolies supermarkets. There is 3 chemists, plenty of cafes, bars and places to eat.
also there is at least 3 bulk billed doctors walking distance which is super handy. The best thing about Mitford Street is how close it is to the beach.
Fun fact: the reason Mitford Street is so wide is because they used to have a tram that went down it all the way to Glen Huntly.
Best street!

"Perfect location"
Ideal location. Far enough removed from the hustle of Acland street that it's nice and quiet but about a 3 minute walk when you want to get amongst it to the restaurants, cafes and bars of Acland street. Also less than a 5 minute walk to the beach, the st Kilda botanical gardens and the peanut farm doggie park. It's been a dream for working from home over lockdown. We often take a stroll down to Acland st or to Elwood village at lunchtime to pick up a sandwich. Lots of young families, couple and singles about.
