"Central hub"

If you want the Sunshine Coast lifestyle without the traffic the heart is where to go. 30 minutes to Maleny and Caloundra, 20 minutes to Maroochydore and 40 minutes to Noosa the ease of travelling anywhere is unparalleled. Enjoy the birds and the rural atmosphere.

"Such a great town"

Nambour is a great up and coming town. Still one of the cheaper areas of the Sunny Coast, but has so many great cafes and arty shops. Just needs some better kids playgrounds.

"Great community in a growing suburb!"

As more families move into the area we are seeing the demographic change. A great community in a thriving suburb where large business are investing.

"Nambour "The friendly Town""

My family moved to Nambour in 1974. My parents purchased a sports store and my father then went into real estate in the late 70s. I did my schooling at St Josephs/St Johns. Nambour was the commercial/retail hub for the Sunshine Coast , boasting the Morton Sugar Mill.
Sadly the sugar industry reduced in the area with the mill closure which affected the retail in Town.
As a local Real estate agent in Nambour the town has so much to offer, established homes, quaint tree lined streets with large blocks and 20 mins to our wonderful beaches. With rail, 2 hospitals, TAFE and great public and private schools the Town is thriving. With new families moving to Nambour we have seen awesome growth in the area. I love living here!!

""Buy the rumour, sell the news""

Large great value private plots; some small acreages with gorgeous views; rural and peaceful yet full amenities and gateway to the hinterland; away from the (increasingly) madding crowds of the coast, yet 15- 20 mins to Maroochydore CBD, beaches, airport (!). *Already* on a train line (albeit abysmal) to Brisbane - upgrading, track duplication and speed uncontroversial and in the offing, as opposed to the endless (seemingly unresolvable) debates about new tracks and lines and routes along the coast. Rumour has it that Nambour is on the cusp of/early stages of regeneration and boom, and you can feel it.

"Nice Country Town"

Feb 2021. Let me see. Affordable, plenty of parking, green, great amenities, brilliant showgrounds, growing foody scene, 20minutes to the beach, rainforest walks 10 mins away, strong sense of community and real estate at half the price of gridlocked places like Coolum, Maroochydore or Noosa. (which are getting worse by the month) Currently $500K buys a lot of house and land in Nambour, so if you're moving from Brisbane et al, that's a lot of money left in your kick to retire on. Recent 7 News story predicts 15% price growth in 2021. We shall see.

"Down to earth & central to everything"

We moved to nambour mainly because of house prices and the community spirit. People really try to come up with new ideas to make the suburb more vibrant. Our neighbours are great and the area feels safe. Nambour is one of the most down to earth suburbs on the coast- no "keeping up with the joneses" here and it's culturally diverse :)
It's green with hidden waterfall and bushwalks and only 15-20mins to the nearest beach. Easy connection to the motorways so you can be at the north or southern tip of the sunshine coast within 30-45mins. I switched jobs when we moved here so it was great not having to worry about travel. Also easy access to the train station with direct lines to Brisbane. Bus system could be better to connect to the coast but that's an issue in almost any of our suburbs.
House prices are still affordable in nambour compared to the rest of the coast.

"One of the worst place on the Sunny Coast"

there's nothing nice about this town. after it was deserted by the local council in favour of Maroochydore, it went from bad to little improvement, to very bad with a lot of social housing and losers hanging around town. there was a bit of an art scene revival but with covid-19, it all went busted and won't resurface any time soon. people moving here is not out of choice but necessity as the coastal areas are getting pricier by the minute, thanks to Sydneysiders and Melbournian. it's the center of nothingness at best.

"I love this town"

My husband, myself and my young son have lived here for 3 months now and we love it. We are from overseas (myself UK and my husband Candian). After living in Redland Bay for 6 months we came up here as house prices were too expensive in Brisbane. We bought a great house, a short walk to town, schools and the train station for a great price. Nambour is one of the cheapest towns on the Sunshine coast, yet it is only a short drive to some of the best beaches in the world. Apparently it used to have a reputation but since living here i am yet to see to that. Its a safe town and everybody is very friendly. Like i said i have only been here 3 months, yet i have met all my neighbours and i am often chatting to people in the street or around town. Yesterday i came home to find some home grown veg left on my door step, presumably one of my neighbours. I have never lived anywhere as friendly as Nambour. Admittedly there are a few odd people hanging around central plaza, but you will find that at any mall, anywhere in Australia. Thats just where the like to congregate. But i have never seen any trouble and the streets are quiet.
Nambour is a great location as we are surrounded by great countryside and just a short drive to some stunning beaches and hinterland towns. We have a train that takes you to Brisbane or north to Noosa. The airport is only 15 min drive away which is fantastic and my husband takes regular trips to Sydney for work ad its great for visitors flying in and out. There is plenty to see and do in this area. Plenty of playgroups and mums groups. The library and swimming pool are very good. We have everything we need and want here in Nambour and i feel very fortunate to be able to live in this part of the world. There are some really nice Queenslander style homes throughout the town and fruit farms on the outskirts. The council are planning to bring back the old tram and have a route between the central plaza and the new shopping centre that is currently under construction. There are lots of new developments planned for Nambour and i am looking forward to seeing them unfold. I have never lived anywhere so friendly and welcoming. We are here to stay.

Great for

  • Centre of sunshine coast
  • Close to hinterlands and beaches
  • Great People

Not great for

  • Lacking in restaurants

"Love the Moonlight Markets"

Nambour has been undergoing some redevelopment to revitalise the township and cultivate a new image.

The Moonlight Markets held in the revamped town square, is a great family night out, with entertainment, stalls, and great food.

There are some pockets of nice neighbourhoods, and new housing estates. Nambour has some of the most affordable homes on the Sunshine Coast.

"The Centre of Gravity is Nambour"

As Young Urban Professionals (aka Yuppies) in their early 30s, we moved from the Northern Beaches in Sydney to Nambour because we couldn't afford the Sydney house prices. Why we chose Nambour instead of Noosa/Maroochydore/Mooloolaba/Caloundra? Because it's the centre of gravity in the Sunshine Coast. I like the beach, whilst my other half likes the mountains. Nambour is halfway between. Also, everything we need is within a 5 -30min radius. Hospitals: 1 min drive; Train Station: 2 min drive; Airport: 15 min drive: University: 15 min drive; Mapleton: 10 min drive; Brisbane: 1 hr and 10 mins drive; Maroochydoore/Sunshine Plaza/Beaches: 20 - 25 min drive; Caloundra: 25 min drive; Noosa: 30 min drive; Big Pineapple: 8 min drive. Bli Bli Castle: 12 mins. Montville and Maleny: 30 mins. We're also near some of the Sunshine Coasts best schools like Sunshine Coast Grammar School and Nambour Christian College to name a couple. We're not over run with tourists. Life is great! The temperature is cooler than Brisbane in summer, and warmer than Brisbane in winter. We don't get floods either unlike other parts of the Sunshine Coast. In Nambour, we have lifestyle.

"Nambour, our new home, YES!"

We have just relocated from Adelaide to this great place.
We chose Nambour for its location, clean and green, and all facilities close by.
We walk to the CBD, hospital, train, etc.
If we want the coast, it is 20 mins, if we want trendy hinterland towns, they are 30 mins.
If we want Brisbane it is 70 mins, if we want parks and national parks, it is here.
It has been our best move, already 2 lots of visitors from Adelaide have visited and yes they are jealous.

"NAMBOUR HAS IT ALL"

Nambour is the sunshine coast's best kept secret. It has absolutely everything you need and also has that "Friendly" town feeling. Nice People Live in Nambour! People smile at you, they take the time to look you in the eye and have a conversation. Don't expect Big City arrogance here!

There are parks, the Petrie Creek, Rainforest, Acreages, Views, Ocean Breezes, amazing birdlife, fantastic Rainfall, loads of private schools, Nambour Plaza, new housing estates, Olympic size Swimming Centre, 15 minutes to the Sunshine Plaza, 15 minutes to the Sunshine Coast Airport, major Rail Interchange, public transport, fast & friendly Taxi's, Sunshine Coast Council, TAFE, Hospitals, YMCA, Sunshine Coast Showgrounds, Childrens Play Grounds, Kindergardens, Public Outdoor Area, Entertainment Centre, Recently upgraded gathering space in centre of town, Parking station, Library, Sporting grounds galore, Community Centres and so much more.

Nambour is exceptional value for money and you can forget what you originally thought of Nambour because it has been "reinvented". And it works! We are seeing many young families coming to the area, also retirees, and also many professionals who may have been transferred to the area.

Why don't you come and have a visit, a great place to view Nambour from is the Kureelpa Lookout which is only 7 minutes drive. Nambour sits centrally on the sunshine coast map, it is central to the coast and the range, so you have loads of options just kilometers away and your so close to the Bruce Highway too if you did want to commute.

Enjoy the New Nambour, and remember NICE PEOPLE LIVE IN NAMBOUR!.

"Nambour- Sunshine Coast Hinterland Hideaway"

Nambour is located at the foot of the Blackall Range approx 100kms north of Brisbane on the Sunshine Coast. Nambour is a residential area which attracts tourists travelling to and from Noosa and further afield. The area is a lush green area with views of the valleys and surrounding hills. Nambour has a railway station which services the Sunshine Coast area and as plenty of shopping facilities. Accommodation is also good with styles to suit most budgets. There are plenty of sights to see and the beautiful beaches of the coast are within easy reach. Property prices are a little less expensive here than the cost but still climbing in price. A good place to buy if you want to be near the Sunshine Coast.

"Nambour is a town behind the Sunshine Coast which is struggling to grow."

Nambour grows in fits and starts. It was the first big town on the Sunshine Coast but has been taken over by the growth on the coast itself. Serving the hinterland area Nambour chugs along at its own pace.

The main public hospital and the TAFE are at Nambour and these provide a great deal of employment in the area.

Nambour tends to attract home owners who do not have big dollars to spend. In saying that, there is also a lot of acreage on the western side of Nambour which has attracted a lot of people looking for 'lifestyle' living.

Shopping tends to be focused at the cheaper end of the market and those who are looking for trendy or up market items gravitate towards the coastal shopping centres.

There is quite a lot of rental in Nambour and at quite reasonable prices which is OK if you do not have to travel the 35 min drive across to the coast each day.
