"Good Beach Living"

Kewarra Beach is a laid back, famiy orientated, well maintained northern beach suburb of Cairns. The first thing you notice are the new modern house proud homes with green lush garderns, secondly an assortment of shops, child care facilities and primary schools and thirdly a long stretch of beach over looking Haycock and Double Island, not to mention a beach resort offering a tropical alfresco restaurant and bar. We have lived in Kewarra for two years and mostly enjoyed the luxury of strolling down the beach in the evenings and on the weekends. Its a good place to live.

"other reviews seem fake"

Thought I would comment as the other reviews seem like they are someone trying to boost their property values. It's a nice place to visit on the weekend but wouldn't live there. It is a bit out of town and peak hour traffic is annoying.

"A Hidden Paradise"

Nestled into the coast and mountain range, Kewarra Beach offers a lifestyle like no other.  Quiet, yet close to everything you need. Only 25  minutes to Cairns. Shops local. Blissfully gorgeous beach, with an added dog beach south of the allocated swimming zone. Amazingly delicious local restaurants just a stonesthrow away.

A neighbourhood that is warm, friendly and lifestyle focused. People don't realise how wonderful it is to live here until you do, so ignore reviews from non locals.

"Not much going for it"

Few amenities around, just a dog beach only. Far from city.

"Nice sunrises"

The beach has nice sunrises, but other than that there is not much appeal to the suburb.
It is very remote to cairns making it a considerable commute to get anywhere. The beach is a dog beach so not great for kids. If you have teenagers you will be constantly driving them into town. Good if you want to retire and play golf.

Rentals in Kewarra Beach

"I wish we had moved up earlier"

We moved up from Sydney not long after COVID lockdowns ended.
For us, the northern beaches were our kind of vibe.
A bit out of the city but with enough restaurants and shops around to keep us entertained.
We did our first summer here and it was a bit crazy with the heat, but the lifestyle and community is laid back.
Best move we ever made.

And another fake profile review. You know they will all come from the same IP address so Homely support will know.

Wow, so many seemingly jealous individuals come here just to put their 1 stars and negative comments. Not constructive at all. If the community and sanctuary of the Northern beaches isn't for you, focusbon what is. Petty jealousy, fake email accounts to lower the scale status of a town you've never lived in is mearly a sad case of your negative viewpoint on life. People see right threw it and ignore your spaming.

It's pretty clear from the timestamps where the fake profiles started. Someone from the beginning wanted to pump the property price of kewarra beach. It got noticed by people years ago.

Hoping to move here soon. I'm closer to the city at the moment but it is much more peaceful here.
My friend has been here a few years and loves it.

"Full of selfish people."

The suburb is filled with the type of people who would do anything to make their property prices go up. Even being kniving and deceitful.
The beach is for dogs and not swimmable.
Steer well clear.

It’s a trek to get to. Beach isn’t that great. Can’t swim all year and you need to watch for crocs.

"Best on the beaches"

Uncrowded, friendly, not over developed, underpriced.
Getting a big water park, new road linking to Trinity beach and new boardwalk lining to Clifton. The gem of the north.

"Family friendly & beach side"

Kewarra is a super friendly family suburb! It’s a dog friendly suburb and the beach is off leash. The beach shack is the perfect place for a sunday sesh and to watch the sunset with some live music. It has a great private school, TAS and early childhood education. Kewarra is great for people of all ages and sizes.

"Dog beach, not very child friendly"

Kewarra Beach is a lovely suburb for dog owners- but if you’re not one of them, it can be quite annoying having to deal with inquisitive, off leash dogs all the time. Going for a run on the beach- forget it, dogs will chase you. Same goes for kids that run along the beach or fly a kite. The playground is full of dogs too, so don’t even consider bringing your toddler here. The other playgrounds and parks are much the same - dogs and dog poo everywhere. Otherwise a nice, quiet suburb with an excellent cafe, store with a good range, doctor’s office and the obligatory Liqourland. There is also a private primary school which is very good (TAS). People are very friendly on the street and there is an overall good vibe.

Bottom line. Don't take young kids to a dog beach unless you want to be approached by dogs. Common sense. Ha ha. Not so common anymore.

"The last unspoilt northern beaches suburb"

Stunning beach. Not over developed like Trinity Beach or Palm Cove. Currently undervalued but moving steady in prices. Great little butcher, shopping centre, medical clinic, chemist, pool shop and more. Has child care and a private primary school. Great community and minutes drive to Coles at Clifton or restaurants at Palm Cove. Amazing resort on north end of beach that provides live music and food on the sandy shoreline.
Great if you love open space and not having people everywhere. Houses backing onto the reserve that runs down the middle of Kewarra to the beach are a score.

"We just love it!!"

We have lived in Kewarra Beach for a year and a half. We absolutely love it. Wonderful neighbours, friendly group of regulars that walk their dogs on the beach in the mornings, takeaways, doctor and grocery store very close by. Its perfect for our young family and we think its the nicest suburb in Cairns.

"GREAT FOR FAMILIES"

Kewarra Beach is great for families. It has many quiet neighborhoods which are safe for the kids to play in, either riding around on their bikes or playing in the garden or at one of the many small parks. It also has a quiet beach which is mainly frequented by the locals so has a laid back feel to it. There are several bike tracks so you can easily get to Kewarra Beach or Trinity Beach quiet easily. We have lived here now for 2 years and love it - perfect family location.

"Love it"

We bought a house in Kewarra a few months ago after searching cairns for a couple of months. The criteria we had was a new home, reasonably priced, nice quite neighbourhood and good for the kids. We found it here and havent regretted the decision at all. Our neighbours are fantastic, the street scape is superb and I feel very safe with the children at all time.
The local shopping centre is adequate with a chemist, IGA, video, pool shop, liquorland, beauty shop and a few others. More than convenient. A great family practice is also located here. If you need a bigger shopping centre than clifton beach is 5 minutes away with coles or smithfield 10 minutes away.

The local (and only resort) has great entertainment on the beach on Friday nights which seems be the local meet and catchup point. What a beautiful setting. Glass of wine watching the sun goes down after a week of work. The best.

We initally purchased here with short term view of 12 months. We now dont want to leave.

"A safe and established neighbourhood."

Kewarra Beach is a great place for families, couples or retirees. It's a quiet beach suburb that is not overcrowded with tourist resorts or apartments like the other beach surburbs. It has an ample little shopping complex, excellent long day care centre for children, private primary school, community hall, and great beach facilities. The northern end features a stinger net, sheltered barbecues, toilets and playground, while the southern end is dog-friendly. On the western side of the highway you are only a short drive from a world class golf course, and many fantastic mountain bike trails in the Smithfield Conservation Park. We have lived here for five years and love it!
Homes here have excellent resale value.
