Reviews of Millicent Court, Mernda
"Awesome Awesome Awesome"
Great place to live!
Away from the hussle and bussle of city life, yet close enough to all amenities.
Lots of parklands for social gatherings and for kids to stay active.
Lots more buildings to be erected and to open including child care, schools (both private and public) supermarket, cafes, medical centre etc etc all for the community.
Lovely neighbours, easy to get along with. Definately feel safe here.

"Peaceful and friendly"
Has a mix of young families and middle aged couples, everyone very friendly and happy to be here. Plenty of social get togethers, usually organised by an elderly grey haired gentleman who is very familiar with everyone in the court. Top spot, lots of nice walks and parks and because it is a court no through traffic so very safe for the children to ride their bikes. We love it!!!!

"Quiet, very friendly street. All houses are new and looked after."
It is a new Estate in the outer northern suburbs. The estate is quiet and very child friendly. Also good for retired couples who would have grandchildren.
The street is a court and very quiet. The owners are all friendly and there are regular gatherings in the street for a social catch up.
All houses are 12 months old and under. Only 2 spare blocks left without a house.
An awesome place to live,

HI AJ,
I have always been sceptical about living in an Estate. However, the last pace we lived in, was supposed to be an Estate, however not too many people looked after their houses. So, we loved the look of Mernda Villages b/c of the kids mplayground, waterways out the front and all the parks. PLus, the covenants meant only a certain type of person would spend the money to build here. Our court is awesome. But, the people also make the street. We think ourselves very lucky. I have seen a street in the same Estate that you wouldn't want to live in as noone looks after their front gardes - which is supposed to be part of the covenants. We are about 28km north of the city and considering some other areas, prices are reasonable. I would suggest if it is the type of place you would want to live, then drive through the Estates and get a feel. You will know the right one once you find it.
You are SO correct about "the people making the street". That's one the reason sites like streetadvisor.com exist...to highlight the best streets to live in. I think I will drive through the estate next time I am in the area. I'd be very interested to see the differences in streets within the estate. You soundd very lucky to be living in such a great area :)

Hi kinglenn13,
I'm curious about these new estate's you live in. Are they as great as they are cracked up to be. I hear so much about Caroline Springs (Delfin ads on late night TV) ,and was wondering if they really are great? I should post a question over on the Caroline Spings boards as well, but maybe you could shed some light on living in "Estates".
Are people very friendly in your area? How far from the city is it, and do the house prices in your area reflect the distance from the city?
